Karynne Penfold -Senior Advanced Hydrotherapist and founder of K9 Aqua Ltd.
Karynne has competed in agility, dabbled in breed showing, competitive obedience and Paws to Music.
She is owned by Blue a 14 year old Bearded Collie x, who is a forelimb amputee due to osteosarcoma at 11 years of age. He is joined by 8 year old German Shepherd Jackson, who has bilateral hip dysplasia.
When Karynne was looking for somewhere to rehabilitate her previous German Shepherd Ewok following hip surgery in 2010, she saw a need for canine hydrotherapy.
Upon traveling to the UK to gain her Level 3 certificate, Karynne then added an underwater treadmill to complement the existing hydrotherapy pool in her centre.

Kathleen joined K9 Aqua in 2016 as partner, bringing her vast knowledge of the Giant Breeds having shown and owned English Mastiffs and Dogue de Bordeaux. Kathleen also traveled to the UK and gained her Level 3 Certificate in Canine Hydrotherapy.
Kathleen is owned by 2 English Mastiffs, Lincoln and Truman and Dogue de Bordeaux, Nixon.
Karynne and Kathleen are founding members of New Zealand Association of Canine Hydrotherapists (NZACH) which was formed to help guide veterinarians and the general public when seeking hydrotherapy for their pet. As this industry grows within New Zealand, we are proud to be leading the way.
In 2017, K9 Aqua relocated to larger premises in Runciman, Drury. Under the banner of Southern K9 Therapy Centre, Karynne's vision of offering a range of holistic complementary therapeutic treatments in one location, came true.
